Supplement Safety FAQ

Are supplements safe?

Dr. J uses only the safest, cleanest, and most hypoallergenic supplement options available, professionally sourced and conservatively dosed. However, every individual responds differently, especially those with sensitive systems.

How should I start my supplements?

All supplements must be introduced one at a time, increasing gradually as outlined in our Supplement Reaction Guide at justinhealth.com/reaction. By adding supplements one at a time, you’ll have a strong indication of which supplement is causing an issue, and by removing that supplement right away, any negative symptoms should improve within a day.

What if I experience side effects?

If a new or concerning symptom occurs, follow the Supplement Reaction Guide and pause the supplement if the reaction can’t be addressed by tapering the dose. If your response doesn’t improve within 1 to 2 days, schedule a consult with Dr. J to help address the issue. If symptoms are severe, seek immediate medical care.

Why do reactions sometimes happen?

Even natural products can create temporary shifts in digestion, detoxification, or immune activity as your body adapts. While reactions are uncommon, sensitive individuals may experience temporary digestive changes, skin reactions, fatigue, mood shifts, or other symptoms. This is why gradual introduction and monitoring are important.

What is the most common reaction?

The most common reaction is too much HCL, which can cause digestive irritation. If any issues come up, please see our Digestive Support Guide at justinhealth.com/digestive-calibration.

Who is responsible for monitoring reactions?

Nutritional supplements are used at Dr. J’s discretion as part of a functional medicine wellness program. Patients are responsible for monitoring their own response and communicating any concerns to our office. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Just In Health Wellness Clinic, Dr. Justin Marchegiani, and clinic staff are not liable for individual supplement reactions or sensitivities.

Full supplement policies are outlined in our Terms of Service.
